Kuahiwi Designs fanny pack <3
This design is so special to me. I drew it using a Niʻihau momi shell I have in my collection, creating a Japanese yabane pattern that flows southeast, the same direction the shells travel from Niʻihau to reach me, so I can use them in my jewelry. The yabane pattern symbolizes forward motion with no return, just like the journey of the momi shells from Niʻihau’s shores, to me, and then on to their new homes with my customers. I used 8 shells across to represent the 8 Hawaiian islands.
